World Trade Center: Margraf’s Fior di Pesco Marble Redefines Architectural Elegance

For this project, Margraf brought Italian excellence to one of Manhattan’s most iconic landmarks, the World Financial Center, now named Brookfield Place. In collaboration with Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, we supplied over 107,639 sq/ft of premium marble, including our exclusive Fior di Pesco Carnico®, for the renovation of the South Lobby and entrance halls.

This distinctive marble, quarried in Forni Avoltri (Udine, Italy), features elegant shades of grey with pink and ivory veining, chosen to enhance natural light and create a refined, contemporary atmosphere. Installed across walls and flooring in a dynamic, non-repetitive pattern, Fior di Pesco Carnico harmonizes perfectly with the architectural vision of César Pelli, who praised its versatility and timeless appeal.

The redesigned South Lobby, 79 ft wide, 69 ft long, and 20 ft high, opens toward Battery Park City, offering panoramic views and a bright, welcoming space. Margraf’s craftsmanship ensures durability, sustainability, and beauty, reaffirming our role in shaping global architecture with Italian savoir-faire.
